Window Swamp Cooler is a very nice product. Amazed how many people don’t understand the difference between an evaporative cooler & an air conditioner! Reviews were mixed, but negative reviews seemed to be from those who expected an air conditioner. So I went ahead with the purchase because of the area it said it would cool & I knew I could return. I’ve no plans to return. This is a pleasant large size with a large reservoir for water, and a pleasant coverage area due to the fan moving a wide swath.
Placed this is the corner of my 20 × 15 room, filled out with water & turned it on. Came fully assembled, didn’t even have to put on the wheels. Love that it has 4 speeds. The lowest is so quiet you don’t even know it is on. That setting doesn’t really cool & will work perfect in the winter to add humidity to the dry air. So I love that this will replace my clunky humidifier.
Cooling is instant. We’re only in the mid to upper 80s now & I didn’t want to run the AC… hoping to save some energy usage. I already was using a smaller evaporative in my bedroom, overnight, but didn’t want to be moving it around. So I went for this after looking at 20 or so coolers. Had an emote, which I wanted to use in my living room. Nice compact size, it fits in the corner unobtrusively. Quieter than my AC, even at its highest speed!
I’ve only been using it for 48 hours, but very pleased. Considering the negative reviews, I’ll update in a month or so. At this point, though, I find this to be great.
