Thermacell Mosquito Repeller is a very nice product. I am torn about this thermacell because it doesn’t use the traditional thermacell supplies. I have used thermacell devices for years and I don’t know what i would do without them because we live in a swamp. Mosquitoes are horrendous. This particular thermacell uses a little bottle of repellent liquid which lasts about 8 hours when the thermacell is running.
The device was easy to charge and worked to keep our patio relatively clears of biting insects, but I actually preferred the older blue squares and butane because there was a slight scent that let me know it was working and when the blue square turned white, I knew it was time to put another square in. I had to keep checking this new unit to make sure there was still liquid and just hope it was still working, as there was no scent to let me know for sure. It did work though for about a 6′ x 6′ area around us when we were on the patio, so it was worth setting up.
It is no trouble at all to insert the small bottle and turn it on. And the lack of any smell is good if I am are eating, so that’s a benefit. Not to mention that I didn’t have to spray myself with bug spray, which I really hate doing. So overall, I would say it was worth it.
