Surgical Recovery Suit For Dogs Petsmart is very nice product. Our one year old Golden Retriever was just neutered and the cone of shame was a disaster. At first he was “paralyzed” whenever we put it on. But, by day two the cone was more like a weapon, as he knocked into everything in sight trotting throughout the house. Yet you couldn’t trust him for 30 seconds sans cone before he was trying desperately to lick his darn stitches.
So far, so good with this handy little suit! He hasn’t even attempted to go at his stitches yet, but it definitely has improved his demeanor since he can now move freely without bouncing his cone off of the furniture or walls.
Completely agree with other reviewers that the sizing runs small. For reference, our pup is 70lbs and we purchased the 2XL. Definitely couldn’t have gone any smaller. There is plenty of room in the chest and belly area (which is good since I wouldn’t want the fabric rubbing on his stitches) but not a lot of wiggle room in the length. Cotton has a bit of stretch to it though, so if it doesn’t go in the dryer we should make it through the next 10 days. Fingers crossed!
