Staircase For Dogs

Firstly, I’d like to state that I paid 100% full price for this Staircase For Dogs product (no discounts of any kind in return for my review) which seems to be becoming quite rare in the amazon community as far as reviews go. Now on to the important stuff:
After reading about all of the spine issues plaguing short legged dogs who frequently jump on high couches and beds we knew that our bed-hogging basset-hound mix would soon be affected if we didn’t do something about it.
He has short legs a long body (30lb body weight.) Our pup sleeps with us every night and spends quite a bit of time on our bed even when we are in the family room or the kitchen. Our bed has a big box spring and a thick mattress which makes it quite the jump for the little guy.
I was not sure at first if he would use it but he seemed to understand the concept fairly quickly. we put one of his favorite treat on each step so that he would need to climb the steps to retrieve them. This worked well. However, he does not use the steps 100% of the time unfortunately. If he’s in a hurry he doesn’t use it.
Overall I would recommend this product to anyone who has a short-legged doggie that loves to join them on the bed. Affordable alternative to the more expensive options out there.
