Mountain Bike Multi Tool is very nice product. I’ve had my M-19 going on 4 years now and gets use 4ish times a year, occasionally more depending on terrain and equipment. Its primary use is for recreational trail rides so I wasn’t too concerned about size or weight, just function. Admittedly I haven’t needed even a majority of the tools but in cases of emergency, I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Not only for me, but for any along the trail who might need the help. The tool itself is well constructed and has a surprising heft considering it’s size. The tools I HAVE used/needed have performed their task effectively, if not at times a little awkwardly. Not perfect, but multi-tools aren’t garage tools. Sometimes the length of the tools and the bulk of the device is a blessing, sometimes a bit restrictive. Ultimately, It’s meant to do the job, and it always has for me
. To keep from breaking these kinds of tools be sure not to over torque. If your bolt isnt moving with reasonable force from hardened steel, you need more tool or more lube (and less initial force tightening). I’ve seen some complain about the case. I’ve never really had a problem with it. The tool fits great in it and the lid is maybe 5 seconds of tedium early on, but after a few openings it’s not even a thought.
In fact these years on, while it still stays shut on its own, the ease of removing it almost concerns me more. I think i paid $26usd for this when i bought it and haven’t regretted the expense.
