Bormioli Rocco Hermetic Seal Glass Pitcher With Lid and Spout [68 Ounce] Great for Homemade Juice & Iced Tea or for Glass Milk Bottles
I started making my own ice tea after buying Glass Pitcher for some time and realizing I could make it a lot cheaper and it tastes better. I was using an old plastic empty ice tea container but decided to get something a little nicer once I was sure it was going to be a long term thing.
I add a few ice tea bags (2 or 3) and fill it about 3/4 full with hot water from my electric how water kettle. After about an hour or two I remove the tea bags and fill it the rest of the way so it’s not boiling hot when I put in the fridge for the final cooling.
Even though it’s tempered glass, I normally run some hot water in it to warm up the glass a bit when it comes straight from the fridge – just to be on the safe side.
I like that the opening is big enough to fit my large hands for cleaning as I wash everything by hand. I am not a huge fan of the top though since it takes two hands to seal and open.
I would have preferred a top that stayed on but still poured. You have to remove the top to pour the contents.
The spout is a bit short too so it has a tendency to dribble out of the sides when you pour. Especially when it’s full. The spout could be a little wider at the base and a 1/2 inch longer I think. It’s not a huge deal – it’s just a poor design. Also, I wish it were a bit larger, but I can’t fault the product for me not knowing what 68 ounces looks like.
Overall I like the pitcher even with the short comings and would recommend it for many purposes, but especially for making hot beverages. The lid and spout design not withstanding.Promised Review By E .A.Jacques
