Curt Echo Brake Control is very nice product. Was easy to install as a retired auto technician and have done this before. I direct wired it to the vehicle (Old body style 2007 Silverado) in about 20 minutes and it works perfectly.
Indicators all work as listed, adjusted with empty trailer and then with loaded trailer. Brakes on trailer worked as they should both on dry and wet surfaces. Mounted to right side of steering column so would not interfere with knee/leg.
Slide bars on unit for easy adjustment. 2 things I will mention. 1 – is the control is sensitive to adjustments so you should play/test it after install to become familiar with your specific trailer/loads. 2 – is for 1st time installers, I would recommend getting the adapter harness to plug into the vehicle harness and the unit.
If you aren’t familiar with the systems involved, wiring it could be confusing and cause problems with brakes, fuses, lights etc. Just a suggestion for safety. Happy Holidays !
