Best Wooden Puzzle Box met my expectations. I was expecting a roughly finished and stained box judging from the product photo. However, this box is more evenly stained and even has a slight gloss from a light coating of varnish. Crude, but not ugly. The mechanism works smoothly. There are no sharp edges or wood splinters sticking out. It will certainly do the job of holding some cash or gift cards if that is your wish. Puzzle lovers will likely enjoy it on its own merits. I think it is a bit expensive for what it is but not really regretting the purchase at all.
