Best Weather Stations For Home is very nice product. Set this up Saturday after a long wait to it to come back into stock. I absolutely love it. I had purchased another weather station from Ambient Weather about 15 years ago that is still working.
They gave me wonderful customer support with the first unit. I wanted to upgrade to one that was wireless and easily connects to the internet. I called Ambient Weather and they recommended this unit but I had to wait for it to come into stock. It is PERFECT for my needs. I am very happy with it! THANKS for your advice on this unit and your awesome customer support in the past.
UPDATE – I’ve had the unit up and running for about 2 months. It has performed flawlessly. I kept my 15 year old (reliable) wired Davis Vantage Pro up to compare readings. They are about 50′ apart and report nearly exact measurements. Over 7 rain events they usually report exactly the same amount or register within .01 to .02 of an inch.
The temps usually track within 1/10 of a degree Fahrenheit. Needless to say, the added benefit of wireless connectivity and internet reporting of the WS-2902 makes this a great deal at this price point. Its reliability and accuracy have been wonderful. Thanks for a great product at a good price.
1 Year Update – I’ve had this weather station up for over a year now. I is still running flawlessly. I still compare it to my “vintage” Davis Vantage Pro. The readings are always VERY close. For the price and for all this unit is capable of, this is a great buy.
16 month Update – I just purchased the WS-1550 which is the same station just without a screen. I will be using it at a remote location so I didn’t need a screen. I had a minor issue with reporting that was immediately corrected by excellent customer support. I can’t recommend this company and these stations highly enough for the weather enthusiast/hobbyist.
4 years – After almost 4 years with the original 2902, I am still very happy. The unit is working flawlessly. The WS-1550 has been in continuous use for 2 1/2 years with equally stellar results. At this price point, these units have exceeded my expectations. The 1550 at the remote ranch location is relied upon by almost 20 hunters to make decisions on accessibility to the ranch based on rainfall amounts. It has been incredibly helpful.
