The Extreme Pro is almost twice as fast as the Extreme. The Extreme Pro has only been out a few months so reviews from 2018 are for the Extreme. The Extreme Pro is slightly larger than the regular Extreme, and will NOT fit in the cases Amazon suggests under “Customers also bought”.
You can easily identify which is which. The Extreme Pro has an orange metallic band around the perimeter, the Extreme is solid black. The Extreme Pro (using in Macbook Pro USB-c port) is wicked fast. Ideal for storing / transferring GoPro video.
