This thing is loud and should work for my teenager…..however, he still sleeps through this. I honestly don’t know how. It is crazy loud and obnoxious. I think for 99% of heavy sleepers this should work fine, but it didn’t for us. Still a good product and I would recommend it. Crazy I know, but I feel this product would work for most everyone else.

**UPDATE: He sets this alarm and wakes up daily. The STILL shocking part to me is that the alarm goes off for about 2-3 full minutes each morning, he then turns it off, and then he actually gets up when the backup alarm go off 10 minutes later. Needless to say, the mornings are loud, VERY loud around here. We had to start cracking his door for our POOR dog that sleeps in his room. Those first few days that we forgot to let her out before that alarm went off, surely did revocable damage to her already insecure tendencies. HOWEVER……there are NO more morning fights, arguments, and threats of harm (by me), or punishments handed down because of the morning wake up issues!
*** So, the moral of this parenting story…. the sonic boom alarm clock turned our miserable mornings around! My mornings are now something out of a dream-minus the obnoxious sound of the sonic boom. I am now able to get up, drink coffee, prop my feet up, and I know that after the second alarm goes off he will get up and moving. My mental morning sanity is now restored. Granted, the last few years took something out of me, that made me question every single life choice I have ever made, I am now back at 70-85% mental parental operating capacity. Although, that isn’t a standard I would normally be proud of, I will take it!
